Greater Manchester January 20 , 2018

A delegation headed by Member Overseas Pakistanis Advisory Council of the OPF Councillor from Pollok shields ward 6 Bailie Hanif Raja MBE from Glasgow called on the Chairman Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistani Foundation Barrister Amjad Malik at his chambers in Rochdale on 20th January 2018.

Chairman OPF welcomed the delegation and congratulated Bailie Hanif Raja on his inclusion from Scotland at the said OPAC Council. The delegation discussed the issues which confront the overseas community in details in particular Glasgow (Scotland) and how to improve information network and connectivity between Pakistan and the Diaspora.

Chairman discussed the progress of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation and gave a copy of the annual report. He confirmed that The Prime Minister of Pakistan in a letter on 12 February 2017 that Government accords high priority to the welfare of oversees Pakistanis, and is making concerted efforts in this regard, and same is visible in the actions detailed in the annual report and progress of OPC and OPF in the year.

Chairman briefed the delegation of the actions OPF has taken to end red tape through OPAC (OPF advisory council), better its services through online complaint system, overseas Pakistanis Commissions in provinces, improved website www.opf.org.pk<http://www.opf.org.pk/> , portal to lodge complaint, 24 hours helpline 009251-111040040<tel:009251-111040040>and a help desk at 8 international airports in Pakistan. He mentioned that open public meetings through missions in overseas, and engagement through Advisory Council for betterment in the service delivery, annual report and International Convention will assist to make a reformed policy, and take policy decisions for the betterment of the overseas community. He emphasised that the board has operated zero tolerance in corruption and in 18 months, BoG tried to bridle all issues which came to their notice. The delegation appreciated the idea of promotion of image, service delivery and investment of skills and experience along with healthy remittances and offered their unconditional cooperation to OPF in this pursuit.

The delegation invited the Chairman to visit Scotland as earliest as possible to meet and greet the overseas community, which the Chairman has accepted his invitation to visit after next Board meeting in 2018.
The delegation was acknowledged by the Chairman Board of Governors of the OPF for their services to the promotion of awareness of rights and connectivity in Scotland and a special membership of the Advisory Council shield was given to the delegate. Chairman asked the member to visit opf on his next visit to Pakistan to see first hand the service delivery infrastructure in place. Delegation included Councillor Bailie Hanif Raja, Businessman Waseem Khalid, Advocate Kashif Hameed and Asif Khan.
