E-Learning – The Future of Digital Education
Pakistan’s education sector is facing a severe shortage of qualified subject teachers, and OPF institutions, especially those in remote regions, are equally affected as skilled educators often migrate to larger cities for better prospects. To overcome this challenge and promote equitable learning, global educators are increasingly adopting Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), commonly known as e-Learning, to strengthen student-teacher interactions.
Recognizing this need, OPF Education Division launched its pioneering e-Learning Program in April 2018, aimed at delivering quality education to OPF students in remote areas across Pakistan. Through advanced e-Learning Studio Rooms set up in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, over 1,000 online lectures have already been successfully relayed to distant OPF schools. Extending its reach beyond borders, OPF also provides live online classes to Pakistan International School Riyadh (PISR) in Saudi Arabia and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Arab Pakistani School in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Flagship Institutions
To address the shortage of teachers across OPF’s educational institutions nationwide and to facilitate the delivery of lectures to classrooms in OPF institutions, advanced technology has been implemented. Three key institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been strategically selected to enable e-learning and ensure consistent educational delivery across the network:
- OPF Boys College, Islamabad
- OPF Girls College, Islamabad
- OPF Girls Higher Secondary School, Rawalpindi
The following activities have been completed to support this initiative:
- Established soundproof e-Learning studios at each of the leading institutions listed above.
- Installed interactive whiteboards/one-screen displays with focused cameras and pre-installed net meeting software in the e-Learning studios.
- Installed dedicated internet connections to enable the streaming of online lectures.
- Trained teachers at these leading institutions on using the interactive whiteboard for conducting online lectures.
