Biography

Pakistani-Canadian Sabrina Rehman has been recognized as one of the top five educators in Canada, according to Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage press statement. Rehman, who works at Little Scholars Montessori, Ottawa, received the 2017 Prime Minister’s Awards (PMA) for Excellence in Education during a weeklong event ceremony in Ottawa. Ms. Rehman was awarded by Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Sabrina, an engineer turned educator, works as a curriculum development director at the Little Scholars Montessori, which she joined in 2003.

She has pioneered an innovation STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program and implemented it at the educational institute. She oversees four Little Scholars Montessori schools in the Nepean / Barrhaven area of Ottawa, Ontario and Manotick Montessori, also part of the BrightPath portfolio.

Rehman believes that children are the future and invites them to celebrate their uniqueness. She sees the environment as their third teacher and organizes it with open-ended materials that her students can explore and use to communicate their ideas.
